Yeah. It's still pretty impressive that they have instant teleportation, though. We hadn't even gotten anything like that back home.

Wait really? Yikes. We had Fast-Travel to get anywhere you needed. As long you had clearance for it I mean. You needed the code of the location you wanted to get to or it wouldn't work.

[ They just needed to digitize you, deconstruct your entire body, and then reconstruct it at your destination. nbd. ]

Well, I guess we had something similar, only it was more on an intergalactic scale, letting you go from one end of the galaxy to the other in a few minutes. As for more local? It was mostly just old fashioned shuttles.

What, wait--intergalactic? Oh man--serious? That's. Cool, whoa. That would make things way faster. Fast Travel only works over short distances between planets and stuff. I think? I don't actually use it. Or haven't used it. I never actually had the codes or privileges when I worked for the people that did.

Yeah, it really helped us out a lot. [ a pause. ] Of course, then we discovered that it was all set up by a group of advanced aliens that were bent on wiping out all advanced species in the galaxy for reasons only known to them, but... nothing's perfect.
