wow, that’s lame.
What’s even the point, then?

[ HIS FIRST REAL ALIEN...
I mean technically everyone he's met since waking up is an alien if you go by the definition, but most of them are humans or human-seeming enough, and elves are more of a fantasy thing for him? Less sci-fi there. Rocket is a talking raccoon which is just Disney as all heck.
Garrus is the first to actually look like a full-on alien and Rhys winds up gawking when the picture switches on. ]
--Holycrapyou'rereallyanalien!
[ ...That came out faster (and blunter) than he intended. let him try again?? ]
I mean...heeeeey. [ f i n g e r g u n s ] That's some sweet...tech?
...Wait, no really. Zoom in on that!

Mind control... [She trails off, looking sympathetic.] Poor man...
[At least the people who joined Ganon's side weren't brainwashed, as far as she knew. They were just... Bad people? It seems a little easier when you know they were in full possession of their own minds. Easier, but a little sadder too.]
Are certain people more susceptible to this... indoctrination?

[ Humans, man. Can’t live with ‘em… could probably live without ‘em, but Gamora is unfortunately attached to hers. ]
The one that I know was taken from his home planet as a child by a group known as Ravagers.
[ She thinks it over, and then clarifies, ]
Space pirates.
[ Though that’s mostly oversimplifying everything the Ravagers do, but this will do. ]

[ Peter, apparently, is not nearly as concerned about the possibility that this was an actual creature that actually existed and actually might pop back to life and, like, eat them.
He's more concerned about the Rule of Cool. And in his mind, a floating, giant head? Pretty cool.
But as he approaches, he frowns and reaches out, smoothing his hand over the expanse of its jaw. ]
... It's stone.
[ try to sound less disappointed about that, Quill. ]

Yeah.. that exactly. [ He almost looks surprised for some reason that he seemed to know what was going on - probably because he's used to people being shocked that he was from space, or something like that, and yet here he is... still kind of shocked that someone gets it. Not in a bad way at least - how could he? In a way it's a relief that someone finally gets it. Well, kind of. He wonders if he'd be as understanding of the resultant terrorism he unleashed on people to make a point about colonies and their freedoms - ]
A whole race of 'em? Yeesh - [ Even thinking about it makes his head hurt. He reaches to scratch at the base of his braid. ]
What's genophage, though? Ya lost me there...
Well, the animal kind is a tiny bird! It's white, or brown, kind of puffy looking...
[ Vague gesture with her hands. ]
And the food type looks different depending on how it's prepared. Though, I guess you might not be familiar with the cooking techniques from where chickens come from if you don't even know what they are...
[ She stalls for a moment, trying to find a good way to navigate this. ]
You're probably asking because you're looking for something to eat, right?

[ he's alien and dutch knows better than to assume that alien beings show emotion the same way the average human would, but the downtrodden look is still kind of funny to her.
but -- ] Yeah, they were. At least the ones that weren't just eating plants, I guess.

[ lance makes a low, considering sound in the back of his throat. he's clearly thinking it over, keeping his eyes on the shadow moving almost lazily beneath them. they haven't moved since it appeared, and he has a sinking suspicion it's just waiting for them to give it a reason to strike...
that said, lance is also hesitant to take the first blood himself. he never tries to pull his trigger unless he has to, and as far as he knows, they're in the wrong here, encroaching on this creature's territory. maybe even it's home.
but, at the end of the day, if it has to be between them or it...
he sighs, nodding once. readjusting his hold on his rifle to take aim. ]
Let's just hope that's the head.
[ otherwise they'll have a hungry monster on their tail, extra pissed off because someone just took a shot at it. ]

[She hears him well enough, twisting about to meet the serpent as it dives into the water again.
With its an source of attacking rendered moot thanks to Garrus, it makes the rest of the job easy. It's a bit of a chase, the water beneath the boat making it sway ominously. Her trident pierces through it and she watches with a tinge of regret as it thrashes about and bleeds out.
She surfaces moments later and hauls the trident--serpent an all--back onto the boat before climbing up herself.]
You are uninjured? I have no doubt there may be ore of these things around, so we should make haste.

[Wow, this guy is spiky. And tall. Tall and spiky. Tim sort of raises his hand and gives a little wiggle of his fingers back, still sort of half expecting this guy to pull out a gun and start shooting at him like the Eridians did. Because that was a thing. That was a thing in a whole line of things that mostly involved Tim getting shot at.]
Uh. Man, you're big.
[Open mouth, insert foot. Goddammit, Tim.]
I mean! Hi. Hi, I'm Tim. Forget that other thing that I said.

[Sorry Garrus. Venom doesn't mean to disappoint.]
Ah, yes. Calling someone "chicken" as an insult. I've always found it juvenile, myself.
But to claim everything in the galaxy tastes of chicken sounds silly. Though granted, this world is the first I've visited outside of my home. I don't have much experience with other food in the galaxy.
[Well, other than whatever's available on the moon.]

[ She'd beam in response to the compliment if it weren't for the fact that when the serpent goes reeling back it dives back into the water. That's concerning, especially when the shadow in the waves begins to disappear. ]
Did it... run off just like that?
[ That may just be hopeful thinking, but it could also just be a baby so??? understandable. ]

[Rocket grits his teeth in a snarl and fires off a shot aimed straight for the base of the neck. The resulting blast doesn't quite decapitate it, but it's enough that the two aliens and the boat get soaked in a nice layer of gore for their troubles.
But it's fine. When the death writhing stops and the serpent falls back into the water, it produces a wave that attempts to wash away most of it. The boat, mercifully, stays upright, but whether that's better or worse than being covered in serpent gore, soaking wet, and sitting in a boat now full of displaced river life, some of which seem to be very drawn to the blood and viscera, remains to be seen.
Rocket, caked in blood, soaked to the bone and currently boasting some sort of crab-like creature latched onto his tail, looks less than enthused about these circumstances. He huffs once and the,n with a slow nod of acceptance, declares:]
Whatever. Still badass.

They have every other size. And they are all-powerful alien gods or whatever. Seems weird if they didn't, you know? If they have raccoon size they've gotta have Turian.
[ Logically speaking, anyway. How likely is it that they'd have raccoon sizes but not other aliens when everyone here happens to be an alien in some manner or form relative to someone else?
Sure Garrus is bulky but he's not a behemoth. ]
Let's take a look.

[He shrugs, grinning.]
Why not? I like cooking.
[And he's good at it, in his not-so-humble opinion.]
Plus, pretty sure it gives me a pass to ask at least a couple nosy questions.
[as if you weren't gonna ask them anyway, kagari]

[ dutch likes dancing and she's good at it, too, following easily when he starts them off with the basic steps. she hasn't promised too much when she said she could follow, but it's good to see that he can actually lead, too.
(dutch doesn't usually give up the lead for anyone or anything, but dancing's different.) ]
Yeah. Bit of bubbly, some music, what more could a girl ask for?
[ y'know, other than: for her world not to be destroyed, for humanity to be saved already, for aneela not to exist - dutch can think of a few things. ]

This isn't the best cookie I've ever had. But it's certainly not the worst.
[ what qualifies as a good cookie to a Wolfskin, who is also definitely not human? and tbh he'd probably eat a lawyer. probably wouldn't taste as good as the cookie though. ]
I think one of the princesses back home ate one with milk. I can't be too sure. They were too busy shoo-ing me away from the food because I didn't wash my hands.
[ which his are currently gloved. ]
Hey, uh. I gotta ask.
[ and he chews nervously, a crumb or two spilling out. ]
Are you some kind of... dragon?
