some humans also try to make vehicles that aren't meant to fly soar through the air.
[ something he has an unfortunate amount of firsthand experience with.

trust me, i've heard way worse things. besides, things weren't exactly looking so good before that Storm hit to begin with. maybe it was for the best?

it's a pretty small piece of tech, but it's got a holographic interface that surrounds your hand. thankfully, i've got one one on me. just give me a second.

Well... I don't know if I'd say it was the complete opposite. those guys had gone into stasis to try and save their civilization from sentient spaceships bent on destroying all advanced life, only for their systems to fail. Here, it was someone else who saved all of us from a very non-sentient storm.
[ well. huh. ]
Actually, I guess the whole thing really was basically the opposite of this.

[ humans... amiright? it wasn't every day that your best friend propositions you right before a suicide mission, shit happens, you guys don't exactly put a name to things and then more shit happens, you meet up again and BAM, end of the universe before you get a chance to figure out what exactly is going on... humans... amiright?

If humans haven't gotten out of the Sol System yet where you come from, how'd you manage to meet one?

But personally, I think the body would slow things down just a little bit. With a floating head, it could pick right up and zoom around the whole place.

Let me guess: arguments over colony rights, versus the homeworld's rules? At least, that's always what my people used to fight over before we ran into other species.
[ they still did on occasion but shhh... ]
Unfortunately, it was less of one bitter bastard and more of a whole race of them. The smart ones wanted to work with us, but some of them just couldn't get over the whole genophage thing...
[ yeah, so it was a bit of a big deal. but you know what? so are Reapers. ]

It looks like we've got a few options. You could try and take a shot right now, before it surfaces, wait until it attacks us and then take the shot, or I could use my... paddling [ ? ] skills and try to row us out of here, and risk accidentally hitting it.
Either way, something tells me we're still going to end up with a hungry and pissed off... whatever that is. So it's your call.

[ oh. ...right then. this is a reaction that he's going to have to get used to, isn't it?

[ wow... this has been a very disappointing day. ]
Are you sure? Because back home, the only thing I ever heard about chicken was that everything in the galaxy tasted like it. And, it was occasionally something humans called someone when they were just trying not to abjectly humiliate them and crush their remaining sense of dignity.
[ this is just so upsetting. first the universe is gone and now chicken doesn't taste like everything. w o w. ]

Oh, Luna. I went there a couple of years ago. It wasn't that fun, but that probably had something to do with the rogue VI trying to kill everyone.

I've faced worse odds.

[ for his part, Garrus is still intrigued by the sweater. it's not every day that you get to find yourself dressed in one of the ugliest patterns known to man. ]
Well, you never know. Some humans like to do some pretty extreme body modifications. I knew this one who was covered in tattoos. Just looking at her almost gave me a headache.
[ don't dig yourself a hole, Garrus. ]
I'll take a wild guess and say your species has been around the galaxy a little longer than the humans? So far, that's almost always how it seems to go. Hopefully you didn't run into them the same way my species did.
[ it was just a mild indecent that almost spiraled into galactic war. no biggie. ]
