Well... I don't know if I'd say it was the complete opposite. those guys had gone into stasis to try and save their civilization from sentient spaceships bent on destroying all advanced life, only for their systems to fail. Here, it was someone else who saved all of us from a very non-sentient storm.

Well, that sounds like fun. [ not really. but hey, what can you do. ] Luckily for us, our ancient aliens mostly just left behind ruins that helped lead some of us to the stars. And a few plans if the sentient spaceships that show up regularly every fifty thousand years to wipe out all spacefaring life decide to come back. That actually really came in handy.
