[ wow... this has been a very disappointing day. ]
Are you sure? Because back home, the only thing I ever heard about chicken was that everything in the galaxy tasted like it. And, it was occasionally something humans called someone when they were just trying not to abjectly humiliate them and crush their remaining sense of dignity.
[ this is just so upsetting. first the universe is gone and now chicken doesn't taste like everything. w o w. ]
Ah, yes. Calling someone "chicken" as an insult. I've always found it juvenile, myself.
But to claim everything in the galaxy tastes of chicken sounds silly. Though granted, this world is the first I've visited outside of my home. I don't have much experience with other food in the galaxy.
[Well, other than whatever's available on the moon.]
In terms of manned missions, we got to the moon. We sent out several satellites that have reached the ends of our planetary system, but once the war began, it was pushed aside.
[It kind of made him sad because he would have loved to learn more about space and pushing humanity's boundaries.]
[ let him calculate. carry the four, minus two... so in human times, that's... ]
One year later than us. Damn.
[ sucks for the humans. ]
But on the other hand, you guys probably didn't have to worry about the sentient spaceships that were trying to wipe out all advanced life forms. So, you win some and lose some.
It's really too bad that you didn't. If your universe was anything like ours, you'd have found some ruins on the planet closest to you that helped you get out to where the rest of us are.
[ a pause. ]
It's a real shame we aren't able to explore any of the other planets around here. Being stuck on one planet isn't really something I'm used to.
[ at least Wyver is kinda like Palaven, though he still misses home. ]

[ thanks Venom for confirming something he'd been wondering. ]
Thought so.
[ James Vega, eat your heart out. ]
I'd probably be able to tell you a little bit more. I've been all over the place, back where I come from.

[Stupid Crusades lasting for 100 years.]

[ the humans he knows have only been around for thirty years or so, but they've made quite the impression. ]

[ seriously, Venom. sounds like shit really sucks. ]
no subject
[It even sounds pitiful since humanity made amazing progress with magic and the resulting technology. Then the Gears ruined everything.
Shit indeed sucks.]

[ something that's on the bright side? ]

[And of course they were trying to wipe everything out. It's almost something out of a sci-fi novel.]
So you're from 2186, then?
no subject
[ see? sticking to Earth really does have its advantages. ]
In human terms, yeah. though where I come from, humans have bee around the galaxy for over thirty years, and in their own system for even longer.

[Things were sort of close to calming down in his world, but then the Storm, etc etc]

[ he doesn't mean to sound quite as bitter as he does. and when he realizes it, he catches it. ]
Sorry. It's just... it takes a lot of getting used to.
[ what with Palaven being gone. after they'd all fought so hard to try and save it. ]
no subject
It does, I know. I like my new home and all, but there's that lingering feeling of sadness behind it.
no subject
[ not that things were going well, but there was still a chance. ]
But, I guess I should be thankful that they managed to save as many of us as they did.
[ if only one turian was still standing, it was worth it. he just needed to remind himself of that. ]
no subject
They did manage to save many of us...
But back to the original topic, would you like to get something to eat?
[It may or may not taste like chicken]
no subject
Oh yeah. Definitely. Even if chicken doesn't taste like everything, I still want to try it, just to say that I have.

[Trading culinary nuances with an alien is something Venom didn't think he'd do, but here they are. And he's really looking forward to it.]
no subject
[ look, now he's curious. this is all stuff he's got to try. ]
no subject
Here, I don't think they offer it at all. They tend to revere their dragon population, so chances are they're staying off the menu.
no subject
[ this is some pretty cool information, ok? ]
Yeah, I guess the way they left the giant one in the jungle should've been a tip-off.

[The thought of that dish kind of makes him hungry, even if he's never tried it.]
You saw that monument as well, I take it? It was quite majestic if you ask me.
