[ it was true that Saren wasn't exactly the best the turian race had to offer. or the nicest guy. but in the end, nobody really deserved that. ]
It has something to do with spending too much time around a Reaper. They're sort of like... giant sentient ships.
[ actually, that's exactly what they are, but he's always known how crazy it sounds. ]
Spend enough time around them, and anyone's able to fall under their control. And as far as we know, it's irreversible.
